I try to use only the necessary amount of packaging with minimal plastic when I can’t find a paper alternative. All the details are considered down to the tape color. A chance meeting with a taxi driver named Raj ended up altering the course of our recent trip in Jaipur. We became fast friends after a day of sight seeing and ended up back in his home eating dinner on his floor and playing music with his kids. I am always inspired how Indians are the most gracious hosts I’ve ever met, regardless of their social or economic situation. I painted this mural at The Nail Factory where I’ve had my art studio for the past 7 years. The new owner of the studio spaces wanted the image to reference a tarot card called the “three of pentacles” in which the theme is working together to build a temple.
