Today marks 173 years of Hapag-Lloyd's history. On 27th May 1847 Hapag's founding fathers set about building trade routes across the Atlantic. The story has flourished into what we know now as Hapag-Lloyd and the fifth-largest liner shipping company in the world, represented in 129 countries and with almost 13,000 employees of 100 different nationalities.
