Severe storms swept through the South West overnight. This video was captured at Cookernup in the Shire of Harvey. Residents there reported uprooted trees and property damage, as well as hail around 5:45pm. Rainfall was sparse across the region despite a heavy rainfall warning. Ms Lingard said most rain evaporated before it could reach the ground, which contributed to strong winds and dry conditions.
