I don't know the purpose of producing such thin XPS foil using a heated wire, but I've long wanted to test how to cut longitudinal rolls similarly to a lathe. Veneer is also produced from wooden logs in a similar way. The thinnest paper I managed to cut was 0.3 mm thick, which is quite an achievement, considering the play in the rotational axis and the roll mount are made of PLA and are quite flexible. #hotwire #hotwirecutter"
