Faulty brakes and unacceptable exhaust emissions contribute to the high National Car Test failure rates. Bad news for many drivers as seventy nine per cent of cars have failed the National Car Test. More than half of the vehicles that fail the NCT test have faulty brakes, and up to thirty per cent have unacceptable exhaust emissions.
