I have had a fabulous absolutely fabulous time today. I got outside and I have rooted plants cut plants off brought plants in my kitchen and you should see the mess in my kitchen. But I'm a happy camper--- why you might ask? Because I have my hands in dirt. I'm playing today. I love to see things grow. I love to see things bloom and it makes me happy. Have you ever swapped cuttings with a friend and every time you look at that plant you think of your friend ????? I surely have. Every time I look

The butter sauce I'm making today is delicious. Today I'm using it with potatoes , but it would be great over rice, noodles or dip your bread in it. You can get any of my 4 books brendaganttbook.com They are wonderful. Not only do they have great recipes, but there are stories and colored pictures on every single page. The coffee table book was my last book that I wrote. It's called the southern mirror. I'm telling you you will be so glad you have my books they are a must have. Thank you for you

Banana pancakes are perfect for this cold cold weather. I'm sure that you have all the ingredients in your kitchen right now to make your children and you some good hot syrupy pancakes. It's OK if you don't have any fruit to put in it. Just make them plain. But if you have some other fruit different from a banana like blueberries or peaches or pineapple you could use those I like nuts in mine but my grandchildren do not like nuts in theirs. If you don't have buttermilk, that's OK. You just less

I like Candy canes on my Christmas Tree. It's just something about a tree with candy canes. My tree has mostly homemade ornaments. Each time I hang a special ornament I think of the person who made it. My tree is special to me. Did your grannie us peppermint candy canes. ? What Christmas candy brings back a memory. I still remember mama and her orange slice candy in her beautiful pretty candy dish. | Cooking with Brenda Gantt
