Bambi was Disney’s fifth feature film, and Walt wanted its animal characters to feel more lifelike than those in Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs. To help the animators study real movement, he brought live animals to the studio so they could observe how deer walked, ran, and reacted to their surroundings. That extra effort absolutely shows, especially in the winter scenes, where Bambi encounters snow and ice for the very first time. It’s a beautiful masterclass in personality animation. | Disney
