Despite facing a 3-1 hole in their Western Conference second-round series, the Vegas Golden Knights aren't lacking confidence heading into Wednesday night's Game 5 against the Edmonton Oilers in Las V

The Golden Knights went more than six periods, 127 minutes, without scoring goal to end their season in back-to-back shutout fashion. The only time they’ve gone longer without getting on the scoreboard in the postseason came in 2020 when they lost in the Western Conference Final to the Dallas Stars.

Vegas Golden Knights captain Mark Stone sat out Game 5 on Wednesday night in the second-round playoff series against the Edmonton Oilers because of an upper-body injury.

This isn’t the first time Evander Kane has been a pain to the Golden Knights, and he has helped bring a physicality to the Edmonton Oilers that has them one game from eliminating Vegas.

The Vegas Golden Knights and Edmonton Oilers combined for 22 goals through three games of their Western Conference second-round series. Connor McDavid, Leon Draisaitl and Jack Eichel have all been involved in the scoring, but one veteran player’s numbers stood out over three games.
