And through eight games, Martin has yet to take a defensive snap, and James has been inactive every week. Perhaps this is Shanahan's comment to the front office for passing on his preferred player, Skattebo, who turned out to be a stud.
The rookie running back's wallet took another hit just a few days later when the NFL announced a $6,157 fine for Skattebo for unnecessary roughness (striking/kicking/tripping/kneeing) in the team's 33-32 loss to the Denver Broncos.
