The Jacksonville Jaguars swapped Luke Fortner for New Orleans Saints’ Khalen Saunders after their Preseason Week 2 bout.

New Orleans Saints Executive Vice President/General Manager Mickey Loomis announced today that the club has acquired offensive lineman Luke Fortner from the Jacksonville Jaguars in exchange for defensive tackle Khalen Saunders pending completion of player physicals.

With the Jaguars signing Robert Hainsey in free agency this offseason to be the presumed starting center, along with drafting Jonah Monheim to be the developmental player at the position--and his play has clearly earned him the backup role--that left Fortner as the odd man out.
