The Mavericks are reportedly the betting favorites to land LeBron James if a trade happens, but giving up young talent and flexibility for a 40-year-old star would only hurt their chances of making another championship run.

Some fans got carried away with this rumor, especially considering that the Mavs may have enough talent to trade for the superstar and still be able to contend for the NBA championship. Of course, Anthony Davis, James' former co-superstar on the Los Angeles Lakers, is now in Dallas, as is Kyrie Irving, with whom he won a title in Cleveland.
