Cooper Flagg has arrived in Dallas. Not as an official member of the Mavericks, but the consensus No. 1 overall pick in the 2025 NBA draft will meet with several team officials for a private visit on Tuesday.
"Cooper Flagg is expected to meet the team, work out, and have dinner with (general manager) Nico Harrison while in Dallas," the Facebook page Dallas Texas TV wrote on Tuesday, quoting the Dallas Morning News. He is also expected to discuss the culture of the team while on his visit, the News said.
Typically, NBA executives and talent evaluators engage in spirited debates about a draft prospect’s scouting report, potential and fit.
In the lead-up to the draft, Flagg’s longtime trainer Matt MacKenzie RG.org reporter Mark Medina about how he’s preparing Flagg for the NBA, along with a story about his athlete’s unique competitive nature.
However, things might not be as smooth in Dallas right now. According to a report by James Edwards III of The Athletic, coach Jason Kidd isn’t happy with the organization right now, and he could look to leave.
