Joseph R. Checklick Jr. was arrested after police said he intentionally drove into protesters in Culpeper, Virginia on June 14.

Joseph Checklick Jr., 21, is in custody for driving an SUV through a protest crowd in Virginia, but more charges may follow if any injuries are reported.

Checklick, who faces a charge of reckless driving, appeared before a magistrate. He was being held without bond at the Culpeper County Jail. Police said Checklick may face addtional charges.
