Dexter Lawrence fires back at Carl Banks

Banks, a radio analyst for the Giants, criticized Lawrence on his Bleav podcast with play-by-play announcer Bob Papa after Lawrence had three tackles and half a sack against the Eagles on Sunday. “Dexter Lawrence, nobody respects you anymore. Nobody,” Banks said, going on to say Lawrence isn’t playing at the same level as previous seasons.
To say that Banks criticized Lawrence, a two-time second-team All-Pro selection, is putting things lightly. Banks ripped into Lawrence on his “Bleav in Giants” podcast following the Giants’ disappointing 38-20 loss. The Giants have allowed 30 points in consecutive outings, and Lawrence has only managed half a sack through eight games.
Banks was a standout linebacker for Michigan State during all four years of his college career, eventually earning the third overall pick in the 1984 NFL draft by the New York Giants.
