One day after dealing setup man Tyler Rogers to the Mets, the Giants traded away two other notable pieces from their roster. The Giants sent closer Camilo Doval to the Yankees and veteran outfielder Mike Yastrzemski to the Royals in the final minutes leading up to Thursday's 3 p.

The Yanks went toward the MLB trade deadline wanting to upgrade their relief corps. And goodness gracious, they did that and more. The Yankees pulled off three separate deals before the deadline on Thursday. From the Pittsburgh Pirates, they acquired David Bednar. From the San Francisco Giants, they picked up Camilo Doval.
Doval was sent down to Triple A last season amid struggles but had rebounded this year to regain the Giants' closer role.
