It has been a magnificent week for Test cricket at Lord’s, and huge congratulations to South Africa for a remarkable victory.
Hobbling captain Temba Bavuma and centurion Aiden Markram pushed South Africa to the brink of a sensational victory over Australia in a gripping World Test Championship final at Lord's on Friday.
Markram now sits just above Travis Head, who dropped four places in the rankings. Another Australian batter, Usman Khawaja, who also had a poor outing in the final, fell six places.
Australia is defending the World Test Championship title against South Africa at neutral Lord's from Wednesday.
