France has shut down the four main Israeli company stands at the Paris Airshow for apparently displaying offensive weapons, in a move condemned by Israel that highlights the growing tensions between the traditional allies.

France, the United Kingdom and Germany expressed their support on Friday for Israel's 'right to defend itself' against the nuclear threat posed by the Islamic Republic of Iran, despite deteriorating relations with Benjamin Netanyahu because of his war in Gaza and their stated preference for a diplomatic approach.

"Israel is acting, whereas Iran is reacting. The momentum belongs to Israel."

Araqchi said Tehran had been responding to foreign aggression, and that if this aggression stopped, Iranian reactions would also cease.
