Zion Williamson dunked on Victor Wembanyama during the first quarter of the Pelicans' matchup against the Spurs on Friday night.

On the literal first play of the game, Williamson took the ball and drove left towards the basket, where he met Wembanyama at the rim. Luckily for the Pelicans forward, he had the right angle and dunked it straight over Wembanyama to the amazement of the crowd.

Victor Wembanyama nearly had a triple-double in a battle with Zion Williamson before fouling out early in overtime, and the Pelicans could not take advantage of his absence the rest of the way.

Victor Wembanyama had 29 points, 11 rebounds and nine blocks before fouling out early in overtime, and the San Antonio Spurs held on to beat the New Orleans Pelicans 120-116.

In the last meeting between Zion Williamson and Victor Wembanyama, Williamson scored on a fast break in the final seconds, tossing a layup over the 8-foot armspan of Wembanyama, to get a 114-113 Pelicans win on the road back in 2024.

Wembanyama would finish with a stat line of 29 points, 11 rebounds and nine blocks, narrowly missing out on a triple-double, in the Spurs' 120-116 overtime victory. The 7-foot-5 superstar fouled out with 4:17 left in OT, which prevented him from registering his tenth block.
