The Pacific Tsunami Warning Center in Hawaii has lifted the tsunami advisory that was in place for San Diego and Orange counties but has left it in effect for other areas of the California coastline.

The National Weather Service Wednesday morning lifted the tsunami advisory for the coastal areas of San Diego and Orange counties.

An 8.7 magnitude earthquake that struck off Russia's Kamchatka Peninsula Tuesday prompted a tsunami watch along the West Coast, including areas in San Diego County.
