LGBTQ+ advocates are concerned that the Trump administration could be discontinuing LGBTQ-specific support for youth on the national 988 suicide hotline.

A part of a US national suicide prevention hotline that caters for LGBTQ young people says it will soon close, after the Trump administration cut its funding.The administration has accused the service of "radical gender ideology".

The 988 LGBT youth suicide hotline was established by the Biden administration in 2022 in coordination with advocacy group the Trevor Project.
