MasterChef host John Torode was axed from his role on the BBC cooking show last night following claims he made a 'serious racist remark' while working on the programme
John Torode has been sacked as MasterChef presenter after it emerged that an allegation against him of using racist language was upheld. On Monday, the TV chef said he had "no recollection" of the incident, adding: "I do not believe that it happened."
Following the MasterChef controversy, there is now doubt about the show's future. BBC 's director general, Tim Davie, said no decision has yet been made on this year's series. The unseen series was reportedly filmed last year with both Wallace and Torode.
