Ford Motor said on Wednesday its second-quarter results took an $800 million hit from tariffs, a less pronounced impact than some of its U.S. rivals thanks to Ford's strong domestic manufacturing base.

The Dearborn automaker now expects the import taxes will affect adjusted operating profit by $2 billion this year.

Ford Motor Co. said profit will fall as much as 36% this year as President Donald Trump’s tariffs reduce earnings by about $2 billion, more than the automaker previously expected.
