The Ada County Coroner said Derek Thayer died at St. Luke’s Meridian Medical Center two days after the incident.

Police officers tried to arrest him on Monday afternoon, and found him unresponsive once they entered the house.

A man wanted on multiple felony warrants barricaded himself inside a Meridian residence for several hours on Monday.

Police said Derek Thayer is in custody after a barricade situation Monday on West Loretta Street in Meridian.

A man who barricaded himself inside a home while police attempted to arrest him has died.
