A kayaker is lucky to be alive after being swallowed by a humpback whale off the coast of Chilean Patagonia and getting spit out by the leviathan.

A kayaker in the Strait of Magellan off the coast of Chile was knocked off his inflatable vessel by a humpback whale, which swallowed him whole.

A kayaker off the Chilean Patagonia had a very close encounter with a humpback whale. On Feb. 9, Adrian Simancas, 24, was kayaking with his father, Dell Simancas, in the Bahía El Águila area of Chile, near the San Isidro Lighthouse in the Strait of Magellan, when the pair spotted a whale. The whale then briefly “gulped” up Adrian and his kayak.

Kayaker Adrián Simancas was paddling unsuspectingly near the town of Punta Arenas in Patagonia when a huge whale suddenly emerged from the water and swallowed him and his yellow boat whole. Five seconds later, the stunned Simancas resurfaced unharmed.
