A federal grand jury has indicted the man accused of fatally shooting a prominent Minnesota state representative and her husband and seriously wounding a state senator and his wife.
The man accused of fatally shooting House Speaker Emerita Melissa Hortman and her husband, Mark, as well as injuring state Sen. John Hoffman and his wife, Yvette, will stay in federal custody after waiving a detention and preliminary hearing during his court appearance Thursday.
Vance Boelter made his third appearance in St. Paul federal court on Thursday and told a judge he's looking forward to the truth and facts of the June 14 shootings of two Minnesota lawmakers and their spouses to come out.
Prosecutors say the man charged with killing one Minnesota lawmaker and wounding another had dozens of apparent targets, including officials in at least three other states.
