AMC Entertainment Holdings reported a smaller-than-expected first-quarter loss on Wednesday as the box office struggles to gain momentum. AMC reported a first-quarter adjusted loss of 58 cents a share on revenue of $862.

Wall Street’s revenue expectations in its first-quarter earnings results Wednesday, despite a weak box-office environment in the first three months of the year. The first quarter is historically AMC‘s quietest.

AMC Theatres CEO Adam Aron called the weak start to 2025 "a distorting anomaly that has already corrected itself."
