The governor appeared to walk back his calls last month for lawmakers to regulate the state’s burgeoning THC industry like it does alcohol.

Gov. Greg Abbott is calling for a ban on THC products for anyone under the age of 21 and tougher regulations for the hemp industry in Texas as lawmakers return for a special session.

On Tuesday, the Senate Committee on State Affairs passed a bill that would eliminate the majority of hemp products in Texas.
