A Montgomery woman is dead after being shot Tuesday night, according to the Montgomery Police Department. Officers responded to the 500 block of East South Boulevard around 10:30 p.m., where they found the body of Barbara Smith,

A 61-year-old woman was killed in an overnight shooting in Montgomery. Police on Wednesday identified the victim as Barbara Smith. Montgomery officers and fire medics were dispatched at 10:27 p.m. Tuesday to the 500 block of East South Boulevard.

At about 9:09 a.m., police and fire medics went to the 1600 block of South Holt Street after a report of someone dead, said Lt. David Wise, a spokesman for the Montgomery Police Department. Charles Harris, 59, was found and pronounced dead, he said.
