More than 400 hundred young ballet dancers from the Northeast gathered with the hopes of winning a prestigious scholarship at the Youth America Grand Prix auditions.

“I love performing for people and becoming like a character when I dance,” said Karli Wilkinson, a 15-year-old from Dighton, Massachusetts ... at the Oklahoma City Ballet.

The Jazz Studies department and the Intercultural Institute at NEC present a full-day event on Thursday, February 27 which includes a workshop, presentations, and a panel discussion followed by a concert featuring the NEC Jazz Orchestra and a mehter band (so-called “Ottoman Janissary Band”).
