The final field for next week’s Farmers Insurance Open was released Friday afternoon, and the tournament at Torrey Pines is missing its biggest draw — native son Xander Schauffele, the world’s No. 2-ranked golfer.
The $9.2 million Farmers Insurance Open is scheduled to begin Wednesday at Torrey Pines Golf Course, short of some of its star power by injury and illness.
Schauffele, who opened 2025 with a T30 at The Sentry, also will miss the second match for his TGL team. After winning the debut match of the league, the New York Golf Club will feature Rickie Fowler, Matt Fitzpatrick and Cameron Young on Tuesday.
Justin Thomas played in two PGA Tour events in 2025; however, he will miss the Farmers Insurance Open. The American golfer started the season at The Sentry and tied for T26 place. He also competed in last week's The American Express and was close to a victory but ultimately settled in second place.
