Content creator Kelley Heyer who created the “Apple Dance” has sued Roblox over selling an emote without her permission.
Kelley Heyer claims Roblox profited from her choreography without a finalized license agreement, selling over 60,000 emotes tied to a Charli XCX-themed update.
Popular Roblox game Dress to Impress has been sued by a TikTok dancer for using her Apple Dance without permission.
Heyer said in the lawsuit that Roblox sold “in excess of 60,000 units of the Apple Dance emote” and earned “an estimated $123,000” in sales.
Roblox has even published an emote to the Marketplace called “Charli xcx - Apple Dance” and sources have said the artist has created an account.
