Proposition 19 shares one characteristic with most of the other 11 measures on California’s ballot this year: It rekindles a political conflict from years past.

Voting no on Prop 19 means senior homeowners who move will have to pay property taxes based on their new home’s purchase price, just like almost every other California homeowner.
