The Boston Red Sox have won six straight games, and have reintroduced themselves to the American League Wild Card race.

Rafael Devers era ended the same way as the last five days of the Devers era: with a win. The Red Sox shut out out the Seattle Mariners at T-Mobile Park on Monday night (BOS 2, SEA 0), one day after the stunner of a trade that sent Devers to the San Francisco Giants for four players and salary relief.

Roman Anthony slugged his first home run of his MLB career on Monday to help the Red Sox beat the Mariners, 2-0.

Top prospect Roman Anthony hit his first major league home run and Lucas Giolito struck out 10 in six innings as the Boston Red Sox beat the Seattle Mariners 2-0.

Anthony came to the plate with the bases empty in the top of the first inning. On a 2-2 count, Mariners starter Logan Gilbert threw a 96 mph fastball to the upper outside corner of the strike zone. Anthony reached across the plate and pulled a deep fly ball that carried over the right-center-field wall.

Boston Red Sox chief baseball officer Craig Breslow said he believes there is a "real chance" his team is better after trading Rafael Devers.

The Red Sox starter said, “At that point, for me, I’ve just gotta turn my brain off and rip it as hard as I can."

The win arrived in Boston's first game since the stunning trade of All-Star slugger Rafael Devers to the San Francisco Giants. Starting pitcher Lucas Giolito was credited with the win after throwing six shutout innings.
