The El Paso Police Department joined the Apache Junction Police Department in mourning the loss of Officer Gabriel Facio.

It was a solemn day in the East Valley on June 16, as the community gathered to remember slain Apache Junction police officer Gabriel Facio. Facio passed away five days after he was shot during the traffic stop.

APACHE JUNCTION, Ariz — The Apache Junction community is gathering to mourn Officer Gabriel Facio, who died in the line of duty, at his funeral Monday morning. Officer Facio died last Sunday, six days after he was shot in the face while responding to a call about a man brandishing a weapon near Ironwood Drive and Elliot Road.
