The Cavaliers are keeping one of their own by reaching an agreement to re-sign backup shooting guard Sam Merrill.

Sam Merrill reportedly will stay with the Cleveland Cavaliers this offseason after agreeing to a new contract on Saturday.

There will be no waiting game for the Miami Heat when it comes to the free agency of guard Davion Mitchell. That is because Mitchell will not be entering NBA free agency.

Mitchell will now have an opportunity to try to continue that impressive stretch in a Heat uniform, agreeing to a new deal worth $24 million over two seasons to return to Miami, league sources confirmed to the Miami Herald on Saturday. The contract does not include any options, with the money fully guaranteed.

Harden has a player option for 2025-26 at $36.3 million for the season. He can play out the final year of the contract or become a free agent in the summer. He still logged significant minutes (35.3 per game) and continued to produce. A strong run during the postseason reaffirmed his status as a capable scorer.

The first round of the 2025 NBA Draft is in the books, but there's still plenty of talent on the board when Round 2 begins on Thursday.

Joe Cowley of the Chicago Sun-Times reported that "everyone else" outside of Josh Giddey and Matas Buzelis was discussed in trade negotiations. Cowley specifically mentioned Ball and Coby White as players that were involved in active trade conversations.
