WASHINGTON - Flags in Washington are ordered to be lowered in honor of Washington State Patrol Trooper Tara-Marysa Guting.
If you notice flags at half-staff across Washington state this weekend, it’s not for Armed Forces Day on May 17. They’ll stay lowered through the weekend, raising on Sunday night or Monday morning.
Members of the public in the affected states are encouraged to participate by lowering flags at homes and businesses.
