If you prefer to vote on Election Day, the polls will be open statewide from 6:30 a.m. until 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 4.

A majority of the Supreme Court on Wednesday indicated it will back a Republican congressman from Illinois who is challenging a state law that allows mail ballots to be received after Election Day, a decision that would let him proceed with a potentially explosive lawsuit that lower courts had rejected.

Supervisor Alina Garcia said new voting machines make it easier to store ballot images, a change starting in November’s municipal elections.

Mail ballots must be postmarked on or before Election Day - Tuesday, Nov. 4 - and received by the elections office no later than seven days after Election Day, according to the California Secretary of State's office. If you can't get to the post office by the deadline, you can bring your ballot to a polling place by 8 p.m. on Election Day.

You can see your voter status on the Georgia Secretary of State's My Voter Page. You can register to vote through the office's online system or by mail by filling out the voter registration application. Early voting for the 2025 election begins on Oct. 14 and lasts until Oct. 31.

The investigation into the wayward ballots is taking place less than a month before the state's Nov. 4 election and with absentee voting already underway.
