Brian McCarty and Anthony Douglass plan to open The Rookery restaurant in La Crosse, expanding into the former Eagles Nest location. Expected to open in April.

GL Homes says the Florida Fish and Wildlife Commission has approved its plan, saying they are doing what needs to be done to ensure the survival of the rookery while still building needed housing.
