Temperatures are forecast to pick up over the course of the week, with highs in the 60s and 70s starting Tuesday.
Friday morning started out not as cold as earlier in the week in North Texas, with temperatures in the 40s. The afternoon will once again have above-average temperatures, with highs near 70. Big changes are on the way this weekend as a strong cold front moves through.
A “polar vortex” is one of those weather terms that gets thrown around during winter outbreaks, but Bishop said it’s something that is always there. Sometimes it can send cold air further south than normal. However, North Texas has varied between warm and cold this season.
