NASA’s Artemis astronauts set a new record for the farthest human distance from Earth, surpassing Apollo at 1:57 p.m., while honoring integrity and family with symbolic crater names.

The four NASA astronauts on the Artemis II Moon Mission are well equipped to document their mission because of two years of training from RIT alumni.

Artemis II Commander Reid Wiseman and Canadian Mission Specialist Jeremy Hansen both trained and lived underwater as aquanauts at Aquarius, Wiseman in 2016 and Hansen in 2014. Now both men are about to orbit the moon along with NASA astronauts Victor Glover and Christina Koch.

NSLC's Engineering at Space Center Houston will run two Summer 2026 sessions, June 11 - June 19 and June 23 - July 1, with students residing in supervised campus housing at Rice University. Tuition includes housing, meals, academic materials, site visits, and transportation to all program activities.

The NASA-led Artemis II mission, carrying a four-person crew beyond Earth orbit for the first time since 1972, is conducting a seven-hour flyby of the moon.
