Authorities recovered the bodies of the remaining 13 workers trapped inside a collapsed hydropower tunnel in India, taking the death toll to 25 as authorities ended the rescue operations on Thursday.

A High-Level Committee (HLC) has been formed to probe the tunnel tragedy at the under-construction Teesta Stage-VI Hydro Electric Project in Sikkim’s Namchi district that has so far claimed 22 lives.

The NHPC on Wednesday announced an ex gratia of ₹5 lakh for the next of kin of each person who died in the accident.
