It started out as rain, then turned to snow as temperatures started falling. Now the worry is treacherous roads and bridges.
Snow was falling on parts of Alabama on Saturday, and very cold conditions are expected both today and especially tonight for the entire state. The National Weather Service has issued -- and now expanded -- a winter weather advisory in effect for northeast Alabama, which could get up to an inch of snow through midday Saturday.

The snow is falling and sticking to roadways across the Triad, so drivers should be cautious if they have to be on the road on Saturday. According to the North Carolina State Highway Patrol, troopers received 216 calls for service and responded to 176 collisions across the state between midnight and 9 a.m. on Saturday.
