At least two drivers were killed and three juveniles were hospitalized after a fiery five-vehicle crash Friday in the south suburbs, police said.
A busy Chicago Heights intersection turned deadly Friday afternoon when a five-vehicle crash left two people dead and three juveniles injured at Chicago Road and Joe Orr Road. The violent collision, which mangled several cars and scattered debris across the area, shut down the major crossroads for hours as first responders swarmed the scene.
A car crash on the city’s Southwest Side sent three people to local hospitals early Saturday morning, including a 12-year-old boy.

Injury crashes rose 11.6% over the same period, and the share of all crashes that injured at least one person climbed from 14.79% in 2022 to 16.40% in 2025.
