It's the second time in WNBA history that players from the same time have won both competitions, which have been held at every All-Star Game since 2019, but the first time that has happened with two different players. In 2024, Allisha Gray of the Atlanta Dream won both competitions, but she was unable to successfully defend either title Friday.

Brionna Jones and Brittney Sykes have been selected to replace Caitlin Clark and Satou Sabally, who are both injured.

Sykes is the Mystics’ leading scorer (17.9 ppg) and she often is tasked with defending the opponent’s best perimeter player. She is averaging 8.7 free throw attempts per game which leads the WNBA. She also leads her own team in assists averaging 4.6 per game.
