By Luc Cohen, Tom Hals NEW YORK (Reuters) -Two U.S. judges on Tuesday extended temporary blocks on some deportations of Venezuelan migrants and signaled that President Donald Trump's invocation of a 1798 law historically used in wartime to speed up their removal from the United States may not survive judicial review.

At a court hearing scheduled for Monday, two Venezuelan men in immigration custody in Denver, Colorado are expected to ask U.S. District Judge Charlotte Sweeney to extend her order preventing them and other Venezuelans within her jurisdiction from being deported under the 1798 Alien Enemies Act.

A federal judge in Maryland has ordered the Trump administration to return a Venezuelan man who was sent to a megaprison in El Salvador despite having protection from removal.
