Nearly 1,500 homes remain without power in the north of Scotland in the aftermath of Storm Floris. Scottish and Southern Electricity Networks (SSEN) said it had restored supplies to more than 70,000 households but that 1,470 remained cut off.

Tens of thousands of households have been left without electricity this week after Storm Floris wreaked havoc on power lines. Engineers worked to restore power to around 22,000 properties in the north and north-east of Scotland on Tuesday morning afte r Storm Floris hit the country with high winds.
