The Senate’s version of President Donald Trump’s tax bill calls for a $10,000 cap on the state and local tax deduction — a placeholder figure as Republicans remain divided over the valuable tax break.

Senate Finance Committee Republicans published their text of President Trump's "one big, beautiful bill" Monday evening, which includes major tax reforms and even steeper Medicaid cuts than the House called for.

The Senate finance committee is set to publish a draft bill on Monday afternoon that will keep the annual cap on the amount of state and local taxes homeowners can deduct from their federal tax bills, commonly known as “Salt” at the current level of $10,000, said two people briefed on the proposals.
