MADISON, Wis. (AP) — Nick Boyd scored 29 points and shot 5 of 7 from 3-point range as Wisconsin trounced No. 10 Michigan State 92-71 on Friday night, marking the second time in four nights that the Badgers have beaten a top-10 team.
Wisconsin (18-7, 10-4) now has three top-10 wins this season. Greg Gard's squad previously spoiled then-No. 2 Michigan's historic start to its 2025-26 campaign on Jan. 10 and then climbed out of a 12-point hole to come back and defeat now-No. 8 Illinois in overtime on Tuesday. Both of those victories came on the road.

Why the MHSAA girls basketball state finals may move from Breslin Center this season
For the first time since 2019, a Michigan High School Athletic Association girls basketball season may not end on the Breslin Center hardwood. The MHSAA announced on Thursday that the location of this year’s girls basketball state finals could be moving to Western Michigan University depending on whether Michigan State’s women’s basketball team hosts an NCAA Tournament opening weekend.
The Ohio State Buckeyes lean heavily on mid-range jumpers, post-ups, and pick-and-pop looks, and Michigan’s physically imposing lineup has cut those actions off. As you might expect, they were particularly strong in the middle of the floor, which is where OSU lives a ton.
One game aside, Michigan has been nearly flawless in the 2025-2026 college basketball season, putting them in position to enter the annual Big Ten Tournament as the No. 1 seed. Dusty May's lightning-quick program rehabilitation has seemingly already reached its peak, but the Wolverines' job is not done yet.
