Michigan Basketball was almost the latest Big Ten contender to slip up, but escaped Northwestern on Wednesday. All focus must now turn to UCLA:
The Wolverines are expected to be in three coin flip games over the next two weeks. This, at least on paper, should not be one of them.
The No. 2-ranked Michigan Wolverines men’s basketball team (23-1, 13-1 Big Ten) returns to Ann Arbor for a Valentine’s Day matchup and “White Out” at Crisler Center against UCLA (17-7, 9-4 Big Ten).
How do the Wolverines and the Bruins match up?
Big Ten road games against the No. 2 Wolverines on Saturday and the 10th-ranked Spartans on Tuesday loom large for the Bruins (17-7, 9-4) and their NCAA Tournament résumé.
The Spartans missed six straight field goals at one point and were 0-for-5 from 3-point range while shooting only 22.2 percent from the floor in the opening quarter. UCLA led 23-9 heading into the second after Michigan State was limited to a season-low point total for a quarter.
The Bruins are about to face #2 ranked Michigan, and one thing must change in order for a victory to come.
