The Met Office has issued a weather warning for thunderstorms, with the UK set for more bad weather as the storms are moving in one direction.

By midweek, the Met Office has forecast that there is likely to be a mix of sunshine and showers, particularly wetter in the north and east, with more dry weather in the south and southwest.
Between 20 and 40mm of rain could fall in one hour in the amber warning zone, going up to 70 to 100mm in just a few hours where heavy downpours persist. “Torrential rain, with thunderstorms in places, could lead to some significant surface water flooding during Saturday morning”, the Met Office said.
The Met Office has added a thunderstorm warning for Scotland for Monday to go with the weekend’s rain concerns.
